Okay, okay. I know that I am a few days late on the whole thanksgiving thing. But in an essence I am not. Yes the holiday was over on the 24th which was 4 days ago, however thanksgiving is something that could be done year round.
I for one know that I am a very thankful person. I am very grateful for loving friends and family. Food to keep the hunger away, warm blankets to keep away the cold, and a home to live in. Yes these are basic things.
I am also thankful for my relationship with our Lord. I am always in awe of him. Just when I think I have MY life all figured out, GOD throws me a curve ball to say "Hey, Who's in charge here??" For that I say thank you LORD!
Over the course of the last month life has thrown some curve balls, I have come closer than I would prefer to loosing all of my belongings and things in a fire. (Thank you LORD for your protection). But really all that close did for me was make me truly thankful, that my priorities are invested in something other than things. Don't think for one minute that I would be upset if I lost everything and had to start over. I would. But that is minor. I could have lost my life, or someone I love. To me life and family is more important to my possessions.
To the family that did loose all their belongings in the fire. I feel so sorry for them and they have been in my thoughts and prayers.
In the last couple of months I have gotten to think a lot about family and what it means to me. Let me tell you. I LOVE MY FAMILY!! I probably love your family too! It is just an amazing time to get to spend with family and friends. Even if they get on your nerves, family is irreplaceable. But I love them.
So those are just a few notes on Thanksgiving.
As a billboard by my house said.
Thanksgiving? Try THANKSLIVING everyday. :)
