What is your BIBLE telling you?

My Bible at work always falls open to the same page. Does yours? At first I didn't notice this phenomenon, but after opening my Bible multiple times I started to take notice. Suddenly I thought, is this a coincidence or is my Bible trying to tell me something. So I read the pages that it ALWAYS opens up to, and here is what I found.

Psalms 30: 1- 2  LORD, I will give you honor. You brought me out of deep trouble. You didn't give my enemies the joy of seeing me die. (2) LORD my God,  I called out to you for help. And you healed me.

Psalms 30: 11-12 You turned my loud crying into dancing. You removed my black clothes and dressed me with joy. So my heart will sing to you. I can't keep silent. LORD, my God, I will give you thanks forever.

Can I just say AMEN!

PSALMS 32:8 I will guide and teach you the way you should go. I will give you good advice and watch over you.

Take a minute and see where your Bible falls open to. What is your Bible telling you?

May God bless you this week.

What Do You See? - Poem by me

WHAT DO YOU SEE????

When you look at me...
What do you see??
Do you see the real me??
Do you see the person you believe I am??
Do you see my strength??
      My heart??
      My personality??
Or do you all the careless deeds I've done??
      Do you see my mistakes??
      Do you see my faults??
      Do you see my past??
When you look at me...
    Do you see my struggles??
     My success???
    My changes??
Do you see the real me?
What do you see when you look at me?

Ol' Clothes

I'm not really sure why, but this has been my favorite poem for years. I just love it. And I thought I would bring it back from my old blog site to my new one, because I just love this poem. I am going to be bringing some of my own writings over as well sometime soon.

The Junk Man passed the house today
And gave his call in hsi plaintive way,
    "Ol' Clothes!"
         "Ol' Clothes!"
               "Ol' Clothes!"
Any ol clothes to throw away?
Any ol' dishes... any ol plates,
Any ol pants or hats or skates,
Any ol kettles or pots or pans,
Any ol bottles or ol tin cans,
Any ol dresses or any ol shoes,
Any ol things that you can't use?
       Ol clothes!
           Ol clothes!
                Ol clothes!"

I searched the house and made a heap
Of the things I didn't need to keep,
Outworn garments and out-read books,
Clothes that had hung on rusty hooks
For the dust to grime and the moths to chew,
And thus the old made way for new.
I thought, as the old many went his way,
How grand it it would be if every day
The Junk Man passed the house to say,
    "Ol woes!
        Ol woes!
            Ol woes!
Any ol woes to throw away?
Any ol grudges... any ol hates,
Any old miseries or sad ol dates,
Any old sorrows or any ol spites,
Any ol fuses or fueds or fights,
Any ol sighs or any ol tears,
   Any ol wishing for yesteryears,
Any ol quarrels or any ol frets,
Any ol tears or ol regrets?
     Ol woes!
         Ol woes!
            Ol woes!

I love books!

I've developed a fondness for reading and books. It always makes me smile when I think about how much I actually read in a week, and about  how I used to absolutely HATE reading. Now as I am getting older, there is sometimes nothing better than getting a good book or even a bad one and curling up on the couch with a blanket, and spending time just reading.

I have to admit that I may not always read good wholesome stuff, but I do get quite a bit of entertainment from the things I read. I have a bookshelf full of books, that I am finding it increasingly difficult to get through, because the library has so many more books than my bookshelf.

I like reading so much that I have even found the world of Audiobooks. Now I really laugh at this because my sister constantly tells me all the books she has read (when a mother of two little ones seldom has time to read for pleasure), she is actually listening to books. But at the same time we still get to share our joy of books by listening to them also.

Reasons I thinking reading is great.

1. It's a world all of it's own. Every time you open a book you get to transport yourself somewhere else to another time. Your problems for however long you are there, don't exist.

2. It increases your vocabulary. I have learned many new words since I have started reading more and more. Not to mention I have learned to appreciate the way different people write.

3. It improves your own personal writing.

4. It gives you something to talk about. There have been many a nights that I have discussed with my closest friends about the recent book we have read, or the newest Vampire novel that is coming out ( I didn't say it was all wholesome).

5.They are entertaining.

Reason for this post. I don't have one! I just love reading and books, and actually right now if I could do what I wanted, I would be relaxing and reading my new library book. But I can't so I figured I would write about it instead.

Mother's Day a Day Late

Dues to the fact that I spent almost ALL day with my Mother yesterday, I decided I would write my Mom blog today! Because, don't we really celebrate our mothers year round. If not we should.

I am blessed to be in a family that is made up of mostly girls. For all of my life it has been my mom, my sister, and myself. I've always appreciated my mom, and I've always loved my mom. She has been my strength and my guidance my whole life. She has taught me to be a strong and independent woman. My mom has always been there to laugh with me and cry with me when the tears needed to fall. My mom has always been were I've ran to for comfort.

As I have grown older and now live on my own, my Mom continues to get smarter and smarter. My home continues to be wherever my Mom is. I still on a bad day will call my mom and ask for words of wisdom. If I am sick I call her to tell her I am sick. Of course I always call her to share the good news also.

I am so thankful that through the last few years in my adult life my Mother has become more than just my mother, she has become my best friend. I am so thankful that my mother has always pushed the value of sisterhood between my sister and I. Now as we are adults I am proud to say that we are a trio that can be unbroken. Anyways who is familiar with our family, knows that if you get one you get all three.

Now as I have witnessed my sister become a Mom also, I see the same things in her that I have always adored in my mother. She is caring, sweet, and kind. Her children are her world, and I love to see the joy they bring her.

So for this Mother's Day I would like to honor both my Mom (my best friend) and my sister (my best friend) as they are true examples of exceptional mother's. I'm so thankful to have these two wonderful women in my life, as we grow and love together.

Happy Mother's Day.
