One: I am thankful for ALL of the teachers in my life. The teachers that I thought were awesome and the teachers that I didn't care for. All of them have helped shape me to be the person I am today.
Two: Teachers don't have an easy of a life as many may think. We deal with students who have zero respect, and could care less what we have to offer them. However, on the flip side, we have amazing young talented people walking through our doors everyday. I feel so blessed to get to know some of these amazing leaders of tomorrow.
Three: I teach almost every single kid in this building at some point in time in the year. Every 9 weeks I learn 120 new faces and names. I would go to bat and try to protect each and ever one of them.
Four: I spend my summer time thinking of new and creative ways to reach out to the young minds that I will influence the following years, I plan my classroom decorations, and collaborate with my teacher friends. (Yes we do take a little time to relax) so we can do it all again the next year.
Five: I love my job! The most amazing thing about my job is watching the kids become adults, and then members of our society. Keeping track of different ones long after they have forgotten who I am.
This year during teacher appreciation week has meant something a little different to me. It is normally a week where we get different gifts from the PTO which I am always grateful for. However this year a young lady in one of my classes has been super sweet all week. Here are a few items that she has sent for teacher appreciation week. Each item appears on my desk with not so much as a smile, until I figure out who it is from. These kids are so sweet and warms my heart. Also a young man brought in some gorgeous flowers today. | Mounds of Thanks for All You Dew |
| Rice Krispie Treat Apple (how cute!) |
My whole purpose for sharing was that it does mean so much to us (myself) when people take their time to show appreciation. Especially because when it gets close to the end of the year often times teachers are just as tired and worn out as the students are. It's nice to be told once in awhile that we are doing a good job, or that a student has learned something from us. Have you thanked a teacher latterly!
